Iconic Alexa

by Farra

Like most fashion girls, I have a pretty long list of style icons.  These “style icons” are women that I admire for being the ultimate trendsetters, and they have closets that I would undoubtedly just love to rummage through.  With her own distinctive personal style, Alexa Chung is not only on my list, but she is a muse to many fashion designers.  She is “a phenomenon” (described by Anna Wintour); “the Kate Moss of the new generation” (described by the New York Times); and a “beautiful and clever.. modern girl” (described by Karl Lagerfeld).  A longtime television host in the UK, I first learned about Alexa on MTV’s It’s On with Alexa Chung, which marked her US hosting debut.  Since then, Alexa has seamlessly made the transition from television host to undeniable style icon.

And here she is showing off her own collection (Fall 2010) for Madewell:

If you love Alexa as much as I do, you should check out her new fashion series 24 Hour Catwalk, which premiers in the US on Lifetime next week (January 10th at 10pm ET/PT).  Chung will host the show which features four well-known designers per episode competing to create a runway collection in just one day.  Unsure?  Catch the preview tonight after the series premiere of Project Runway All Stars (9pm ET/PT on Lifetime).
