Module H

Who wants Hermès walls?  Seriously, they can be yours if you just so happen to.  “Japanese architect Shigeru Ban has teamed up with the French luxury brand to create ‘Module H’, a modular screen and partition system unveiled at Milan Design Week 2012 for their home furnishing collection… The system can accommodate a range of square or rectilinear components which may be inserted into the slots with a simple fitting.  Easily removed and adjusted, the elements can be upholstered with a range of colored leathers, skins and fabrics with trademarked designs for continuously changing and diverse motifs or murals.”  –Designboom

I’m not sure about this one.  Would love to hear your thoughts!

Model-Morphosis

I love this project, “Model-Morphosis,” by photographer Greg Kessler for T Magazine’s blog.  Kessler captures the transformation that models undergo during Fashion Week and presents it a fresh, interesting way.  He uses a technology that allows you to slide between two images, a before and after, of various models.  These screenshots below don’t do the project justice, you really must check it out for yourself.

Spring Has Sprung

Hi readers!  It’s been so long since I last posted, apologies for just abandoning the blogosphere like that… I’ve just been so focused on my new job that really nothing else has seemed to matter this past month.  You can’t fault me for that.  Anyways, it’s officially Spring and I couldn’t be more excited about it.  Just like my very first post a few short months ago, I figured there’s no better way to get back into the swing of things than sharing my current wants: specifically, my Spring fashion cravings and beauty must-haves.  If I had a money tree these would all be mine right now.  Confession: that yellow Equipment blouse is already hanging in my closet.  Obviously.

Hope you have a happy Monday!  (*To avoid future “sorry for going MIA”s, I’m just going to put it out there right now that posts are going to be fewer and further between going forward.  Work is my top priority and deserves all of my attention and focus; I hope you understand.)

Few Words

Me = tired.  That’s about all I can muster up right now.  Training at a new job is exhausting, let me tell you.  Exciting, but exhausting.

Enjoy this visually stunning and vibrant editorial featuring model Natalia Vodianova shot by Mario Testino (a personal fav) for Vogue US March 2012.  Oh so pin-worthy.

Pastel Picks

Very much like neon, pastels have already proven to be a huge color trend this Spring.  But unlike the brighter highlighter hues, pastels are soft, feminine, and defininitely more wearable for those scared of standing out.  From soft pale pinks to baby blues, lilacs, and fresh minty greens, pastels are everywhere right now, and I don’t know about you but they instantly lift my spirits, even if it’s still a little chilly outside.  These are my current pastel cravings:

1.  Yves Saint Laurent Belle du Jour Pantent-Leather Clutch

2.  Erickson Beamon Rear Window Necklace

3.  Jonathan Saunders Oval Waffle-Knit Sweater

4.   Missoni Caramella Crochet-Knit Skirt

5.  J Brand 811 Mid-Rise Crop Skinny Jean in Neon-Lilac

6.  Guiseppe Zanotti Gladiator Sandal

7.  Essie nail polishes in (from left to right): Borrowed and Blue, Lilacism, & Mint Candy Apple

8.  Ted Baker Loupie Bow Belt

9.  Emilio Pucci Appliquéd Silk-Charmeuse Dress

Taylor Stalking

Majorly inspired by Taylor Tomasi Hill at the moment, from her career to her style and her incredibly amazing abode.  How do we feel about the red hair… and how it might possibly look on yours truly?

Studded Savings

I’ve been obsessed with these Chloé studded anke boots since I saw them on blog crush Ring My Bell a few weeks ago.  But at almost $1,300, those babies are simply shoe porn – not for purchase, just to admire.

Imagine my utter excitment when I spotted these close copies on Zara’s website for about 15% of the price of the real ones.  Still not exactly cheap… but I deserve them, right?  I am going to Zara right now.  Like walking out the door… end of story.

Closet Coveting

A peek inside the amazing NYFW suitcases of the Courtin-Clarins girls (sisters Claire and Virgine and their cousins, sisters Prisca and Jenna), photographed in their suite at The Crosby Street Hotel in Soho:

{sunny yellows – Guiseppe Zanotti heels + Givenchy bag}

{quirky Louis Vuitton giraffe suit}

{3 Alexander McQueen minaudières  + 1 Louis Vuitton clutch… all works of art}

{pretty incredible Isabel Marant coat + Roberto Cavalli minaudière}

{Lulu Frost baubles}

{Celine bag + Lulu Frost necklace}

{beautiful blue + white Rodarte dress, another work of art}

{Thakoon dress}

{Mugler nude stilettos, Guiseppe Zanotti heels, Roberto Cavalli minaudière}

{more happy yellow… bike + Bottega Veneta dress}

Even more amazingness right here (I know that’s not a word but I could not think of anything more appropriate).

Hollywood’s Best Dressed

Here are my picks for best dressed from last night’s 84th Annual Academy Awards (in no particular):

{Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab}

{Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton, looking flawless while rocking the peplum trend}

{Kristen Wiig looked beautifully beachy and effortless in J. Mendel}

{Kate Mara in Jack Guisso Couture}

{Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford.  Only she could pull of that cape… love.}

{Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace.  Stunning.  Obviously.}

Shoe Porn

Remember when I posted about that gorgeous Tabitha Simmons multi-colored snake skin peep-toe bootie that cost a ridiculous $1,400 but was just so pretty and fun to ogle over? Well I always knew that it would unfortunately never be joining my shoe collection, but I didn’t care. On the blog it went, like a lot of other things I can’t afford, for that matter.

Apparently, in the blogosphere this is known as “shoe porn.”  It’s hot shoes, period. Whether you can or can’t afford them, will or won’t eventually be pulling the trigger… shoe porn is simply those stunners that are so good that you can’t stop obsessing over them, let alone close the web browser where you first spotted them.

{Carven – Slingback Bow Pump, $595}

Carven’s bow pumps are my current craving right now.  And that color is so bright and fresh for Spring, I’m pretty much obsessed.  That, my friends, is shoe porn.
